Done, for real.

Last weekend we set off to search antique stores for a rocking chair. At the first store we found a dresser and the cutest headboard for Emma's future bed (when baby boy grows out of the cradle). At the second store we had the choice of a few rocking chairs and found the PERFECT one! It sits pretty low to the ground and I love that my feet can completely touch the ground which is a problem with most rocking chairs and me. Anyways, not that you would know now but it used to be lime green. Seriously. The dresser was just plain wood so we added a little character to that too : ) The best find of all were the soccer knobs. Found by Trevor at the second antique store. There were only 4 sets so we had to work with what we had. After a couple freezing hours painting outside we are very happy with how they turned out! Now we are seriously done with the baby's room.
I feel like this waiting game is annoying. I am about 37 weeks and I can hardly take it! The fact that Emma came at 38 weeks keeps me hoping we will have a baby in a week or two instead of three. I am having tons of lower back pain that past few days and a few contractions here and there...I feel like I don't know what to expect because I didn't really have any contractions or pain with Emma before my water broke. I am so in the dark on what to expect! Tuesday I get my membranes stripped (with Emma she came the day after that) So cross you fingers!!! : )

p.s. the doctor said that earliest day he would induce is Feb. 14th. What are your thoughts on a boy having his birthday on Valentine's day? I just don't know how I feel about it.

baby boy

I have been crafting and sewing A LOT lately. Baby boy can come anytime because all the basics are covered. We are still on the search for a dresser (hint's the reason for clothes piled on the floor) but we might just go with something small and temporary until we can hit some garage sales this spring/summer. I am now 35 weeks and the doctor said at 37 he will strip my membranes!!! With Emma I had it done at 38 weeks and she came the next day. Oh ya and as for having the basics covered we FINALLY decided on a name...but I will keep that off the social networks until he is born : )
Burp cloth from extra fabric.

Our $2 DI shelf.
Betcha can't guess his name from the initials : )

All made from things I found at the dollar store : )

I could not find bumpers for a cradle ANYWHERE....so I just made some. Kinda made it up as I went but I was pretty proud how they turned out!

Soccer ball piggy bank thanks to the dollar store. I made the car seat cover and made the straps removable so it can be used as a blanket and the straps just stay attached to the car seat handle!

Christmas in Kansas

I thought I could just do a quick post of a few Christmas pictures...I was wrong. I haven't look at these since I took them and there were so many to choose from! We had an excellent Christmas with my family in Kansas which was nice because we had a less than excellent time traveling there. We decided to take the Greyhound bus because it was about $600 cheaper than flying. Well there is a reason for that. Lets just say there are very interesting people who ride those buses. We witnessed one drug deal and heard about another. We also ate at McDonalds wayyyyyy too many times because that is the only place the bus stops besides the gas station. Being pregnant made the small uncomfortable seats worse and by the time we got to Utah, on our way home, my feet were so swollen I was scared they might stretch out and stay that way. Moral of the story....DON'T EVER TAKE THE BUS.

Very happy for 4am. Yes we woke up wayyyy too early because my family is crazy. And it took 3 1/2 hours to open all the gifts before church. jeeze.
