Family Pictures

So this year we tried to take some pictures in July but they just didn't turn out how I had envisioned. Basically family pictures for us means I pose everyone, hand my camera to someone and they snap a few shots while trying to handle a DSLR camera and also trying to get my kids to look at them. I am cheap.

A few years ago we took these family pictures. They have been my all time favorite ever since. So this year when our first round didn't work out I knew we had to do Fall pictures and with Skye and Fletcher again. They are the PERFECT people for the job, Skye has more experience than the average person with a camera and Fletcher is good at getting the kiddos attention. Plus I was also able to get a few shots of the kids and Trevor in between group. I uploaded and edited them the second I got home and I am in love once again and probably will never take family pictures in another season. EVER.

7 months

7 months...

- has 2 teeth (both on the bottom)
- crawls up the stairs
-can pull himself up to his knees on things
-loves to chew on flip flops (sick, I know)
-the bathroom is his new favorite place to crawl to(again, sick)
- has tried new foods including, strawberries, mashed potatoes, nectarine, and bread...he hate everything but the bread
-feeds himself rice crackers and the baby cereal puffs
-tries to grab the spoon whenever I feed him
-sits pretty well on his own
-follows Emma around wherever she goes

He pulled himself up on a chair at church yesterday like this and then reached up higher and barely had enough strength to get his little knees about and inch off the ground...then fell straight backwards.
Unfortunately the gate only keeps him from going into the kitchen and there is NO way from keeping him from going up these two steps in the play room. He has rolled down a few times.

Kellen has the cheesiest grin lately where he squints both eyes and it reminds me SO much of Emma at this age...I need to get a better picture!

Puppy Love

For the record: I am NOT an animal lover.

Last November we got our first dog, Buster, a pug/chiuaua. He was kinda bought on a whim as most big ideas seem to happen around here and was a great dog...which at the time I didn't realize. Sadly Buster got hit by a car in May, which was my fault, which is why I didn't really talk about it. I felt SO bad.
 Emma still asks, "Where's Buster?"
And I say, "In the stars."
To which she responds, "NO. He's in the dirt!"...we let her watch us bury him.

Next came Nash. A brittany/ pointer that also came on a whim but this time against my will. He was adopted from the pocatello animal shelter in July and sold this past Tuesday. Nash had WAY too much energy and literally wore down a running path from one side of the house to the other. Really the only great thing was that he was completely an outside dog but we just couldn't exercise him as much as he needed.

After that I set a few ground rules (we were only getting a female, lab, not black, not adopted, has to be a puppy) we began a search that went a lot faster than I had anticipated. You know that baby hungry feeling when you see a newborn? Well I had that when I saw the cutest red fox labs last night.
Unfortunately this morning they were sold but there were some silver lab/ redfox lab mix puppies in Rigby. Trevor called and decided to meet them in I.F. but said we aren't going up there just to see them, it is either all or nothing. Well, with Trev that always means the first option. I picked the puppy and Trev picked the name...surprise surprise...did you know he has named both our children. He has strong opinions about names.
So here is Miss Presley our 5 1/2 week old lab. She is as snuggly as she looks and hasn't had an accident inside, yet. Maybe it will be like potty training a second child since I already went through this with the first dog? Needless to say she is getting lots of "love" from the kiddos.
